Happy Maha Ashtami 2015 

Hindus all over India are in a festive mood as the nine-night long Navratri (Navarathri) festival, to be celebrated to worship Goddess Durga, will end on the tenth day of Ashwina shukla paksha, according to the Hindu calendar.

Durga Ashtami (Durgashtami), also known as Maha Ashtami (Mahashtami), is celebrated on the eighth day of Durga Puja celebrations. It is one of the most important days of Durga Puja.

Devotees also observe fast during the day and special prayers will be conducted in Devi temples.

Nine forms of Devi will be worshipped during Durja Puja celebrations and the festival marks an end on Vijayadashmi day, which falls on 22 October this year.
