Two teams of doctors in two states, along with government authorities and two distraught families, are set to make history as they are working to make an inter-state organ transplant successful. 

The heart and lungs of 19-year-old Pranav have been taken to Chennai via air ambulance as part of Mrithasanjeevani project. The organs will be taken to Fortis Malar Hospital on Tuesday.

2:20 pm: The special aircraft has reached Chennai airport.

2:10 pm: The special aircraft is expected to reach Chennai airport by 2:15 pm.

A green corridor was arranged by the Kochi Police to take the organs to the airport. They reached the airport in 25 minutes.

The organs were brought to Nedumbassery Airport at 12:30 pm from Lakeshore Hospital, Ernakulam, after 2 hours long surgery and was expected to reach Chennai by 1:30 pm. The Chennai Police will also create a green corridor as the hospital is situated 12km away from the airport.

The second-year BCom student Pranav, who hailed from Kayamkulam, Alappuzha, met with an accident on Sunday and passed away on Tuesday morning.

The details of the recipient in Chennai has not been revealed as yet. Meanwhile, Pranav's liver will be reportedly donated to Kozhikode native Radhakrishnan and small intestine will be given to a patient admitted in Amrita Hospital, Kochi. One kidney of Pranav will be donated to a recipient in Alapppuzha and another will be given to the Kozhikode Medical College. His eyes will also be donated.
