Mount Mayon, the Philippines most active volcano, erupted on January 22 causing ash and lava to be sent miles into the air. Local authorities have evacuated residents nearby and expanded the alert area to eight kilometers, as well as upgrading the volcano to an alert level of four as more eruptions are expected.
