Two emerging Indian smartphone makers, Karbonn and Xolo, a subsidiary of Lava, launched affordable quad-core smartphones, S2 Titanium and Q700 respectively earlier this month.

With the launch of Titanium S2 and Q700, price war among the domestic and MNC companies have intensified, as they have the potential to pose a threat to Micromax's flagship smartphone Canvas HD and even cannibalize the sales of their own siblings - Titanium S5 and Q800 - respectively.

Even though the newly launched smartphones hold low-price tag, they pack high-end features, no less compared to other handsets in the market, but it remains to be seen which smartphone has upper hand. Here is brief comparison of the main features of Karbonn S2 Titanium and Xolo Q700.

Display:

Karbonn S2 Titanium sports 5.0-inch TFT screen with 854x480p display resolutions and other hand Xolo Q700 features smaller 4.5-inch IPS screen with pretty decent 540960p resolution and it also boasts OGS (One Glass Solution) technology which makes display thin and still be sensitive and scratch -resistant to some extent.

Processor:

In terms of power, Karbonn and Xolo smartphones share equal points as they both boast quad-core processors:

Mobile Operating system:

Again, in this aspect also, S2 Titanium and Q700 stand even as they both run on the latest Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

Camera:

Karbonn S2 Titanium packs an impressive 8.0-megapixel camera at rear-side with auto focus, LED Flash support and a 2.0-megapixel camera at the front.

On the other, Xolo Q700 houses a 5.0-megapixel camera with LED flash support, Auto-focus and other standard camera features and it hosts 0.3-megapixel VGA camera at the front.

Storage and RAM:

In this aspect, Xolo smartphone scores some extra points for its 1GB RAM compared to S2 Titanium's 512 MB RAM. However, they boast same storage capacity of 4GB in-built internal memory which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card

Price:

As per recent report, Karbonn S2 Titanium's price is hovering around ₹10,500 whereas Xolo Q700 is selling for less than ₹10,000 in the market.

In comparison, Xolo smartphone tops Karbonn smartphone in terms of RAM capacity and price, but it remains to be seen if the buyer would go for the less expensive Xolo handset or the more popular Karbonn brand.
