Sivakarthikeyan's "Kakki Sattai" (aka "Kaakki Sattai") has also joined the Pongal race along with other biggies including Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal," Vikram's "I" and Vishal's "Aambala."

Newly-released "Kakki Sattai" poster has ascertained that the film will be a Pongal release in January 2015. The makers of the film and trade members are said to be happy with the film's outcome.

Directed by Durai Senthil Kumar, "Kakki Sattai" will have Sivakarthikeyan playing a cop's role in the film. Sridivya of "Varuthapadha Vaalibar Sangam" fame appears as the female lead opposite Siva, while Prabhu, Manobala, Vidyullekha Raman and Vijay Raaz are also part of the flm's cast.

The film's motion poster, which was released last month, has received good response from fans. There are big expectations from Anriudh's music, which will be out on 12 December. If "Kakki Sattai" album turns out to be a hit, it will boost the hype surrounding the project.

"Kakki Sattai" is the latest to join a string of films that are gearing up for Pongal release. A new "Yennai Arindhaal" poster has reiterated that the film will be releasing for Pongal 2015. The makers of "I" and "Aambala" have already confirmed the films' release for the festival period.

Pongal 2015 is going to be a real treat for the fans, but the distributors will be wary of the clash as they might eat into each other's business. It will be difficult for theatres to allot enough number of screens for all the films.

Trade experts feel that there should be at least two weeks gap between big releases so that they can enjoy a good run at the box office. Festival period like Pongal can accommodate two films and the others need to back out. It remains to be seen as to which of these four films will hit the screens for Pongal and which will opt out of the race.
