Malayalam versatile actor Jayasurya's upcoming movie "Inspector Dawood Ibrahim" aka "IDI" is one of the most awaited projects of the actor this year as he plays the role of a police officer in the action thriller after a gap of three years.

The makers have announced the release date of the thriller, and it will hit screens across the world on Aug. 12. "Hello folks, we're back with a bang! Team IDI is proud and happy to let you know that our movie was co-produced by EROS International in association with the production house, Magic Lantern which is ventured by Dr. Ajaz Ibrahim and Arun. IDI will be distributed worldwide by EROS International on the 12th of August, 2016 [sic]," the makers wrote on the movie's Facebook page.

With the latest announcement, the audience have become a bit confused as the makers of Jayasurya's horror comedy entertainer had also earlier announced Aug. 12 as the release date of the Ranjith Sankar movie. When International Business Times India contacted the team of "Pretham," they confirmed that the horror film will also be released on the same date. If both the Jayasurya-starrers hit the theatres together, then it will be a rare moment for the actor.

In the Sajid Yahiya directorial movie, Jayasurya plays the title role of a sub-inspector, who worked hard to become a cop. Soon he realises the struggles of a police officer and how he faces the pressures and duties assigned to him is said to be the gist of the action thriller, which also has comedy elements in it. The film marks the reunion of Jayasurya and Sshivada Nair after the superhit family entertainer "Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam." "IDI," which is co-produced by EROS International in association with Magic Lantern headed by Dr. Ajaz Ibrahim and Arun, also has Joju George and Sunil Sukhada in significant roles.

In "Pretham," Jayasurya will be seen as a mysterious mentalist Jon Don Bosco, who can read the the minds of people. The movie also has Aju Varghese, Govind Padmasoorya and Sharafudheen, who were once college classmates and own a resort together. What happens when John's character enters their life form the crux of the film. Meanwhile, Jayasurya is also awaiting the release of Boban Samuel's "Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum" this Eid season. It also has Kunchacko Boban and Amala Paul in the lead roles.
