Hyundai's upcoming crossover Elite i20 is back in the headline again, this time through a new set of spy shots of the model from Chennai.
Thanks to the folks at Anything on Wheels for the fresh spy shots of i20 Cross. Hyundai Elite i20 was caught on camera numerous times and the auto enthusiasts in the country already have a clear picture of what to expect on the arrival of this new model. Elite i20 cross, a crossover based on Hyundai's latest offering Elite i20 is expected to get features like plastic-cladding, roof-railing and side-body cladding, which is common with the crossover models.
The model is expected to share lots of similarities with small i20 and is likely to make its debut in the country by mid-2015. As for the styling, the crossover is likely to flaunt a new front fascia with new projector headlight with LED daytime running lights. Inside too, the i20 Cross is expected to sport minor changes.
When launched the Elite i20 Cross will be pitched against Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura and Volkswagen Polo Cross in India, new Elite i20 Cross and is likely to get a price tag around ₹8 lakh.
As for the engines, the i20 crossover is likely to borrow the same engine of its smaller sibling elite i20. The current Elite i20 packs 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre CRDi diesel motor.
While the petrol engine of churns out 83PS power and a peak torque of 114Nm, the diesel motor is tuned to generate 90PS power and a peak torque of 220Nm.
