The features of the long-rumoured HTC Google Nexus 5 (2016), which is slated to be released later this year, has surfaced online.
HTC's upcoming flagship Vanilla android phone, internally known as Sailfish, is said to feature 5.0-inch full HD display and come packed with 4GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory (base storage), 12MP primary camera, 8MP camera on the front and a 2,770mAh battery, Android Police reported citing reliable sources.
HTC is also said to boast a fingerprint sensor on the back, speakers and Type C USB port at the bottom and an audio jack on the top.
The tipsters also added that the HTC phone will boast 64-bit class 2.0GHz quad-core processor, but refrained from revealing the brand name. Going the chipset description, it is most likely to be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 series SoC (System-on-Chip) as it is only quad-core CPU, which can clock 2.0GHz speed.
Furthermore, rivals such as Samsung Galaxy S7 series, LG G5, HTC 10 come with same Qualcomm chipset.
So far, HTC has not responded to the speculations. Though Android Police says its sources are credible enough to be trusted, we cannot vouch for it until the company officially clears air over the Nexus 5 (2016) rumours. So, we urge our readers to take this report with a proverbial pinch of salt.
Besides HTC, Google has reportedly asked Huawei to make the successor of Nexus 6P in 2016. It is code-named Marlin. There is very little information on the phablet other than the fact that it will have top-of the-line hardware. 2015 model received rave reviews from critics and was touted as first true Nexus series phone since its conception. Huawei will have its work cut out to make the 2016 series phone top its predecessor.
Stay tuned for more updates.
