Google Nexus 5 Pricing Details Leak Ahead of Launch

In the countdown to the rumoured Google Nexus 5 launch (31 October), pricing details of the Nexus 4 successor has been leaked online.

Technology website PhoneArena citing a source has revealed that Nexus 5 would come in two storage models - the 16GB with a price-tag of $299 (₹18,500) and the 32GB model which is said to cost $399 (₹24,700).

The leaked price details of Nexus 5 seem credible considering the fact that Nexus 4, despite featuring high-end specifications which are on par with rivals, was sold for almost half its original price. Nexus 4's 8GB and 16GB variants (unlocked) were priced $299 and $349 (₹21,600) respectively. In comaparison, Apple iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 had expensive price-tags.  

The tipster also claimed the Nexus 5 models would come with a different battery capacity. The 16GB variant is said to feature a 2300 mAh battery, while the 32GB model would boast a 3000 mAh cell.  

According to latest reports, Nexus 5 would feature a 4.97-inch full HD display with pixel density of 442 ppi (pixels per inch) and is touted to be the first Android smartphone to run on the recently unveiled v4.4 Kit Kat, out-of-the-box.

Under-the-hood, the upcoming Nexus smartphone is said come with a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and in two storage variants (16GB and 32GB). It is also expected to house an 8.0-megapixel main camera with MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical System) technology and a 1.2-megapixel camera on the front side.
