Comic book and superhero culture may still be a niche spectrum of entertainment in India, but Comic Con India is doing everything it can to celebrate this sub-culture. With the arrival of the first ever comic book celebration week in India, fans will not only get free access to a host of Indian comic book samplers, but also take part in fun competitions that could fetch them amazing prizes.

The Alto Comic Book Celebration Week will be held from July 4 to July 10 on the ReadWhere platform. It will bring popular publishers such as Amar Chitra Katha, Graphic India, Chariot Comics, Abhijeet Kini, Holy Cow Entertainment Campfire Graphic Novels and Meta Desi Comics to the digital content sphere, wherein the fans from all over India can directly download comic samplers to their desktop, phones or tablets.

"I am extremely excited to flag off our latest initiative to promote Indian comics & creators and this year we have a week long celebration lined up! All thanks to the support from Maruti Suzuki ALTO. We are bringing the latest & the best in Indian comics to fans across the country, in return we hope they will support their local creators and not only download the free comics but also purchase them!" Comic Con India founder Jatin Varma says regarding the exciting event.

During the course of Comic Book Celebration Week, fans can also participate in fan art contests, fan meme contests and trivia contests, winners of which will be chosen based on via public voting and internal judging. 

The winner of the fan arts contest will get a chance to display his/her work at the Alto Hyderabad Comic Con, which will be held from Sept. 24 and 25. The memes contest winner will win a brand new Tablet. Meanwhile, winner of trivia contests held daily during the week will get anything from amazing merchandise to popular graphic novels, courtesy of Random house India, Planet Superheroes, Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins and Hachette India.

Further, you can get to know more about the creators of your favourite comic books in a section called "Know Your Creators," and samplers available for free download will be "VRICA: Ascension Protocol," "Angry Maushi: Heavy Metal," "Holy Hell 1," "Rakshak," "Kaamotsav," "Elephant Stories," "Birbal," "Suppandi 7," "Shambhu 7," "Beatles," "DC Superhero Girls Finals Crisis," "Avatar EX," "Aghori," "Ravanayan" and "Shaitaan," among others.
