Fiat 500 Abarth May Come In October; Price, Features Details

Italian automaker Fiat has reportedly confirmed the launch of its much anticipated Abarth 500 in the country next month.

Fiat Abarth 500, a performance oriented car from the maker of Punto was seen at the Delhi Auto Expo, 2014 and since then the auto lovers have been waiting patiently for the car to roll out in India.

Now it looks like we are almost there. A latest Rushlane report, citing its sources reveals that Fiat India will pull the wraps off its Abarth 500 in the country in November. However, the report does not divulge the exact launch details of the car.

Fiat Abarth 500 would be the last launch of Fiat in the country in 2014. The company will also be presenting it's Avventura crossover in the country on 20 October.

Talking about Abarth 500, the performance oriented hatchback will be powered by a 1.4 litre MultiAir turbocharged four cylinder petrol engine, which can conveniently churn out a power of 135bhp.There is also a high end version 'Essess' model, which will generate 161bhp power.

In India, the Fiat's new model will compete with BMW 1 Series, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Volkswagen Beetle and Volvo V40 Cross Country and will be brought to the country as CBU (completely built up unit). We hear that Fiat Abarth 500 will get a price tag in the brackets of ₹25 lakh.

As far as the features are concerned, Abarth 500 is expected to include projector head-lamps, dual-exhaust system, KONI front-shock absorbers. On the safety front, the vehicle is likely to get Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and airbags.

On the other hand, Fiat Avventura, which will see the light of the day in October will get the same 1.3-litre multijet diesel and 1.4-litre FIRE petrol engine options and will take on the likes of the Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross.
