A drunk Russian diplomat rammed his car into a bike and then a police barricade, and assaulted a Delhi Police constable in the early hours of Wednesday.
The incident took place at about 1:30 am in Delhi's Moti Bagh, ANI news agency reported.
The Russian diplomat, whom some reports identified as first secretary in the Russian Embassy Dmitry Kryukov, rear-ended his car into a bike and then slammed it into a police barricade.
When he was stopped by the police, he allegedly punched a Delhi constable.
One of the bikers was taken to the hospital with injuries, while the Russian diplomat himself was seen bleeding from his nose.
"He was so intoxicated that he could not control the car and he was practically unconscious. He was driving really fast and was unable to stop. His car is so badly damaged and this is proof of how hard he rammed into the police barricade. When the police tried to get him out of the car, he refused to do so," one of the bikers told ANI.
An FIR has been filed against the Russian and the Delhi Police will submit a report to the Home Ministry.
The Russian diplomat cannot be arrested as he enjoys diplomatic immunity.
