TV actress Deepika Singh has been ruling the hearts of millions of viewers with her performance in popular show "Diya Aur Baati Hum".
However, of late, Deepika aka Sandhya has not been delivering much dialogues in her show.
While many might wonder as to why is the lead actress remaining mum, it has now been revealed that Deepika is going through a lot of pain due to a lump in her vocal cord, reported Telly Chakkar.
Apart from struggling to talk, Deepika has also not been able to eat for the past few days and if this continues the actress will have to undergo a throat surgery.
Deepika's husband and "Diya Aur Baati Hum" ex-director Rohit Raj Goyal, confirming the news told the online portal: "Deepika is unwell since 10 days now. She has a vocal cord nodule which is giving her lot of pain. She is not able to talk and eat. We have consulted our family doctor and he has asked her to get operated. If it doesn't heal then she will have to go undergo a throat operation."
Last month, the show was in news for some wrong reasons, when Deepika slapped her co-star Anas Rashid on the sets
Reportedly, Anas touched Sandhya inappropriately while shooting for a scene. The scene required Anas' on-screen character Suraj to hold Sandhya from behind but he mistakenly, touched her from the front, which led to an uncomfortable moment for the actress. Although Deepika completed her shoot, she later went to her director complaining about the same.
During her conversation with the director, Anas intervened and the duo landed in a heated argument. The actor seemed to have abused Deepika verbally, which irked her to such an extent that she smacked the actor. However, the duo later reconciled and resumed the shoot.
