New Delhi, Oct 7 (ANI): The Hindu festival of Navratras is a period of great joy and celebrations for devout Hindus across India. The nine-day long Navratri festival is dedicated to Goddess Durga. The festival was celebrated with grand fervour in Gole Market area of New Delhi where devotees assembled at a temple and participated in the elaborate prayer session. Chief Minister of Delhi Shiela Dixit also participated in the Navratras celebrations and wished everyone a very happy Navratras. It is believed that during the days of Navratri, Goddess Durga descends on earth to rid it of demons and bless her devotee subjects with happiness and prosperity. The nine-day festival of Navaratri culminates on the festival of Dussehra, which falls on the tenth day.
