A 25-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped in a moving car in South Delhi's Vasant Vihar area on Thursday, ANI reported.

The Delhi Police have detained three people in connection with the alleged gang rape after the woman filed a complaint.

Delhi has been witnessing several crimes against women for years. Only last week, five people were given life sentence for the gang-rape of a Danish tourist in 2014.

Meanwhile, it has come to light that a 21-year-old woman who had alleged that she was gang-raped in a moving car earlier this week was lying. A sting operation reportedly revealed that she and her friend were trying to extort money from the person they had made the allegations against, the Indian Express reported.
