"Mary Kom" has been receiving overwhelming responses from the audiences and Priyanka Chopra is praised for pulling off the role so impeccably. Darshan Kumar, Chopra's on-screen husband has also been appreciated for his performance.

It was no less than a challenge for the actor to get into the skin of Onler, real life husband of the boxer.

"All the hard work seems to have paid off. I remember I had to audition in three different looks representing three different stages in Onler's character. I first had to look like the very young student besotted by Mary Kom, then the mature man who marries her. I also went through screen tests with Priyanka to see how compatible I looked with her. But finally it all seems to come together," DNA quoted Kumar as saying.

After romancing gorgeous Chopra, Kumar is all set to be the love interest of yet another popular actress, Anushka Sharma. He will be seen in Sharma's home production, "NH 10", reported Bollywood Hungama.

However, the actor states that his roles in both the films are completely opposite. While Kumar was seen as a supportive husband in "Mary Kom", in "NH10" he will be portraying a negative character in Sharma's love life.

"All I can tell you is that I play a character very different from the one in 'Mary Kom'. In fact quite the opposite. In 'NH10', I am aggressive, insensitive and insufferable. Not the kind of guy any girl would want to marry," the actor said without revealing further details on his role.

Sharma's debut production venture "NH10" is touted as a thriller film. The film co-produced by Phantom Productions and Eros International is based on a couple's road trip that went wrong leaving them in trouble. Sharma plays the lead role in "NH10" and is scheduled to release next year.

On the other hand, "Mary Kom" is based on the life of the five-time world champion and Olympic medal-winning boxer, Mary Kom. Co-produced by Viacom 18, the film also marks the debut of director Omung Kumar.
