The upcoming season of NBC's medical-drama series "Chicago Med" will have several different challenges to deal with and it seems that one of the biggest ones will be maintaining a balance between the familiar actors and the new ones, who will join the cast in Season 2.

Though fans are looking forward to meet the new characters, the show-runners are trying their best to make sure that the other prominent characters of the show are not over-shadowed. Hence, the second season of "Chicago Med" promises a significantly interesting storyline than the previous one.

Though a new character might not be introduced in the premiere episode of "Chicago Med" Season 2, the second episode titled "Natural History" will see the debut of some of the characters who belong to Maggie's (portrayed by Marlyne Barrett) family.

The synopsis reads:

"Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and fourth-year medical student Jeff Clarke (guest star Jeff Hephner) are forced to figure out a mystery illness when an Indonesian man who doesn't speak English arrives at the hospital in dire straits. Maggie takes Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) to her family reunion where he meets her sibling Denise (guest star Alexandra Grey) and uncovers deep-rooted family secrets. Meanwhile, Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) takes on a complicated heart surgery without consulting Dr. Latham (guest star Ato Essandoh) and Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo) and Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) encounter a woman experiencing an unusual pregnancy."
