Many Android fans would have been eagerly awaiting for the Nokia's Android smartphone for quite some time now. Well, the wait is almost over as the long rumored Nokia X aka Normandy is slated to make a grand debut in just a couple of days at MWC (Mobile World Conference) 2014, Barcelona on 24 February.

Why so much buzz around 'Nokia X'?

Even though numerous reports are pointing that the upcoming 'Nokia X' is a budget smartphone with very little to offer in terms of features, the buzz around the phone seems to be increasing with each day getting closer to launch date mainly because of the fact that this handset is the Finnish company's first ever Android device and it's quite a bizarre strategy from Nokia which is getting acquired by Microsoft (next month) who is competing with Google.

Here is the brief description of key features expected to come in Nokia X:

Display and Design:

Earlier in the week, a Chinese technology blog, Coolxap posted a series of snapshots of the alleged Nokia X phone. In the picture, we saw the phone featuring an ominous candy bar body shape seems to be influenced by the Nokia's Lumia design. If closely observed, the device has striking resemblance to the recently unveiled Lumia Icon sans the size. [To view the Nokia X image, Click here]

The upcoming entry-level Nokia Android phone is said to feature 4.0-inch WVGA screen with 480x800p resolutions.

Processor, RAM and storage:

The phone is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core CPU backed by 512MB RAM and 4GB inbuilt storage with an option for expansion via microSD card.

Camera:

Nokia's budget phone is expected to house a 5.0-megapixel camera, but without LED flash support as well as secondary snapper on the front side.

Mobile Operating System:

According to BGR India, Nokia X is said to run on the tweaked Android operating system pegged as Asha on Linux (aka AoL), an  ASOP (Android Open Source Project) OS version integrated with company's applications and HERE navigation services along with 'Tile' interface like we see in Windows Phone 8 powered handsets.

Even the leaked images twirling in the internet also show the phone running on 'Tile' based interface.

Price details:

Vietnamese online seller, 'Mai Nguyen', on its official social network Facebook page reportedly revealed that the Nokia's Android smartphone would cost anywhere between 2.2 million to 2.5 million VND (Vietnamese Dong), approximately ₹6,500-to- ₹7,380 (or $100).

Launch details:

Nokia has officially released the MWC 2014 live webcast invitation with a graphical teaser image of 'X'.  The company says the launch event will be streamed live on the official blog from 8.30AM, Barcelona time (GMT+1) i.e. 01:00 PM IST.

After the unveiling, Nokia is said to go for a marketing blitzkriegs during the IPL (Indian Premiere League) Season 7 in early April to gain publicity for the new Nokia X in the sub-continent.
