Emerging Indian electronics manufacturer Lava Mobiles on Saturday announced that it will launch an Android v4.2 Jelly Bean tablet PC in the first week of May.

According to BGR.in, Lava's new tablet is said to pack a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage capacity with options for expanding memory via microSD card. Lava also claimed that the new device will priced within ₹10,000, but the company was tight-lipped regarding the name of the new smart device.

The new Lava tablet PC is also expected to house a 2.0-megapixel rear camera, VGA camera on the front side, a high capacity 3700 mAh battery and add-on features such as Wi-Fi connectivity and HDMI output. Other key specs like the tablet size, type of display panel, network connectivity are yet to be revealed.

As of now, Google Nexus 7 is the only device in the Indian market to run on the latest Android mobile OS v4.2 Jelly Bean. The 16GB variant was launched last month on the official online shopping portal Google Play store for ₹15,999 (Wi-Fi), whereas the 32GB model was launched early this month for ₹18,999 (Wi-Fi only) and ₹21,999 (Wi-Fi and 3G).
