Finnish handset maker Nokia on Tuesday expanded its budget Asha smartphone series with the launch of Asha 310.

"The Nokia Asha 310 is the first-ever Nokia smartphone to offer both Easy Swap Dual SIM and Wi-Fi in the same device. Nokia has confirmed that the new Asha 310 smartphone will be initially released in India, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Brazil in the first quarter of 2013.

Earlier last month, Nokia posted its fourth quarter profits of 2012 that were propelled by record sales of the Asha smartphone series and Lumia smartphones.

Buoyed by the 2012 Q4 profits, Nokia is reportedly planning to launch five new devices and probably new tablet PCs as well as mid-range smartphones Lumia 720 and 520 at the Mobile World Congress 2013 which will commence on 25 February in Barecelona.
