Apple iPad 5 with G/F2 Touch-Screen will be Thinner and Lighter: Report
American technology major Apple is reportedly planning to unveil its next -generation iPad with a new overhauled structural design similar to iPad mini's display type.

Taiwan based daily DigiTimes citing an industry source has reported that the upcoming 9.7-inch iPad will endow a G/F2 (DITO) thin-film type touch-screen structure that will make it lighter and thinner than its predecessor iPad-4.
Apple's current iPad (fourth-generation) uses the G/G touch screen design. Even though the tablet's weight at 652 grams is not an issue with consumers, the Cupertino-based company is determined to introduce a lighter and thinner iPad 5 considering the trends in the competitive tablet market.
It was also reported that Japanese component maker Nitto will supply thin-film materials while Nissha Printing would provide the touch-screen modules. Taiwan- based touch panel maker TPK is expected to take care of device's lamination, and the device's panel will be procured from the LG Display and Sharp.
Sources added that the touch-screen suppliers are expected to provide 4-5 million units per month throughout 2013 to prevent interruption in the production line and improve the production yields this time around.
Earlier, speculations were afloat that iPad 5 would hit stores by March end, but latest reports suggest that its debut could be delayed till October.
