Makers of "Arrow" Season 3 will take its viewers for a roller-coaster ride when The CW show returns for its mid-season premiere episode, which will be aired on Wednesday, 21 January.

The winter finale episode of the series, titled "The Climb", ended with a battle between Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Ra's al Ghul (Matthew Nable), wherein the former nearly died.

Even as the "Arrow" fans are eagerly waiting to know more about the future of their favourite character and Starling City, the trailer of episode 10 - titled "Left Behind" - shows Queen's body on a snowy cliff.

The 30-second-long promo clip also shows someone trying to help the protagonist of "Arrow" Season 3.

But as of now, there is no sign of his return to the series and John Diggle (David Ramsey) will reportedly protect the city in the absence of his friend in the upcoming episode.

Meanwhile, the billionaire playboy's partners including Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) will start believing that something worst has happened to their friend after the battle, according to The Futon Critic.

However, Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) will still hope for her partner's return until Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) pays her a surprise visit.

The mid-season premiere episode of "Arrow" Season 3 will also focus on the lives of Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) and Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy).

Fans will have to wait until 21 January to find out whether darkness will rise in the absence of light or not.
