The shooting of Ajith's upcoming film "Veeram" has wrapped up and the post-production work has begun in full swing.

A press release from the producers of the film says: "The final shooting schedule of "Veeram" the most expected film of January 2014 concluded amidst mixed emotions and feelings. There were happy moods on the completion of the film, and the movie gearing up for the scheduled release on Pongal."

Directed by "Siruthai" Siva, "Veeram" is a commercial entertainer set in a rural backdrop. The film has Ajith and Tamanah as the main leads. The story revolves around Ajith and his four brothers played by Vidarth, Bala, Munish and Suhail. The film also has Santhanam, Nassar, Ramesh Khanna, Devadarshini, Pradeep Rawat and Vidyulekha Raman in pivotal roles.

The film's producers, Venkatramana Reddy and Bharathi Reddy, have appreciated the director and his technical crew for completing the film within the allotted budget and within the time frame.

"Veeram" is all set to hit screens on 10 January, 2014 and the film's audio launch is expected to happen in December. According to reports, the music launch might happen on 7 December, though an official confirmation on the exact date is still awaited. The film's music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad of "Singam" fame.

The trade on "Veeram" has begun and negotiations to get the distribution rights are progressing at a brisk pace. The film's distribution rights for Chennai and NSC areas (North Arcot, South Arcot and Chengalpet) have been purchased by Ramanarayanan of Thenandal Films for a whopping amount. The distribution rights for other areas in Tamil Nadu and other states are likely to be finalized by the end of this week.

The action entertainer is all set to clash with Vijay's "Jilla," which has also been officially confirmed to release during Pongal festival in January. Both Thala (Ajith) and Thalapathy (Vijay) have a huge fan following in south. It remains to be seen as to who will emerge as the big winner in the Pongal race.
