Kabul, Sept 11 (ANI): Afghanistan will always remain India's first strategic partner said Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is visiting Kabul to enhance bilateral ties and help its northwestern neighbour deal with key challenges of security and stability. Swaraj, who is on her maiden visit to Afghanistan, arrived in Kabul on Wednesday and inaugurated the new Indian embassy building. She also held talks with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai on crucial bilateral and regional issues, as well as on defence and security assistance from India. Swaraj also met her Afghan counterpart Zarar Ahmad Osmani. While addressing a gathering of delegates, Swaraj said India has always wished for a prosperous Afghanistan. She also remembered the Afghan and Indian personnel and officials who laid down their lives safeguarding India's diplomatic premises and development projects in Afghanistan. She is also expected to hold meeting with presidential candidates in Kabul.
