Zync, the home-grown tablet maker, has launched its first 9.7-inch tablet in the country with a price tag of  ₹ 10,990.

Zync has been part of the budget Android makers like Micromax, BSNL, Mercury, Milagrow, Karbonn and Wishtel from a long time but this is the first time it has launched a tablet with a multi-touch HD display.

"This is our first attempt of launching a tablet with a multi-touch HD display with a higher screen resolution with a face-unlocking feature. As of now, the product is running on 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but it can be upgraded onto the latest 4.1 Jellybean platform in the coming months," Ashish Garg, Director, Zync Global Private Limited, told AndroidOS.in.

"The tablet will be sold on the e-commerce platform through websites like Flipkart.com, Homeshop18.com, Naaptol.com, Snapdeal.com, Indiatimes, Infibeam and will come with a one-year pick-up and drop warranty," added Ashish Garg.

The tablet, which is dubbed as Zync Z1000, runs on Android 4.0 OS and it can be upgraded to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 9.7 inch 5-point multi-touch capacitive HD display of 1024 x 768 pixels. The tablet is powered by 1.5GHz Cortex A8 processor and packs 0.3MegaPixel front camera and 2MegaPixel rear camera.

The user can access internet via inbuilt 3G support and WIFI. The built-in 3G support is a greater advantage of this Android tablet as many budget tablets don't have this feature. The tablet, which has a battery of 7000mAh, comes with preloaded applications such as Ibibo, BigFlix and Hungama as well as the social networking sites like Facebook. It also has connectivity features like mini HDMI port, TF card, DC port and two micro USB ports. It is packed with a 1GB RAM and comes with 8GB memory onboard which is expandable up to 32 GB with microSD card.

The tablet will be available in 22 states across the country through Zync's distribution network. It will be available in the market with freebies worth  ₹ 1,350 like Lycra Pouch, Screen Protector, ear phones and a Big Flix 1 Month Subscription.
