China-based electronics manufacturer ZTE launched the Nubia Prague S smartphone on Monday in China for CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs 24,600). The mid-range smartphone with integrated eye scanner is available for pre-order, and shipping begins 23 January.

ZTE Nubia Prague S sports high-end features packed in a beautifully designed metal unibody. The new handset is quite similar to last year's Nubia My Prague model, albeit with a few changes on board. Nubia Prague S is available in silver and rose gold hues.

In terms of specifications, Nubia Prague S has a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with OGS (one-glass solution) 2.5D screen and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The handset is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB RAM and has 64GB storage, expandable up to 128GB.

The new Nubia Prague S flaunts a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with ISOCELL sensor, PDAF, enhanced focus speed and low light capabilities, the company revealed in the product listing on its official online store. On the front side, there is an 8MP snapper with 78-degree wide-angle lens and NeoVision 5.2 Camera UI, according to Fonearena.

ZTE Nubia Prague S packs a 2,200mAh battery with quick-charge technology, and supports dual SIM, one of which doubles as a microSD card slot. It also supports 4G LTE and has Bluetooth 4.0, dual band Wi-Fi and GPS. The company uses its Nubia UI 3.0 based, on Android 5.1 Lollipop, as the new handset's interface.

In order to offer better sound quality, ZTE Nubia Prague S comes with NeoSound 4.0, AKM4375 Hi-Fi audio chip 7.1-channel Dolby audio and Dolby decoder.

ZTE did not reveal any plans of launching the handset outside China, but we'll bring updates if the company has a change of heart.
