Yutopia has been one of the hottest topics in the tech world, and the launch of "the most powerful phone on the planet" has been closely watched by its fans. After YU revealed that the 2015 flagship was going to be launched on Monday, 7 December, there were several sparkling eyes waiting to see more of the device. Sadly, fans will wait a little longer for Yutopia's first look.

YU founder Rahul Sharma on Wednesday tweeted the release is now postponed and device will finally launch on 17 December instead of 7 December.

While this brings a lot of disappointment to YU fans who have eagerly been waiting for Yutopia's release, YU justifies the postponement by saying it has something special to announce with Yutopia on 17 December.

YU has managed to grab nationwide attention for its Yutopia smartphone by its successful marketing treats. Everything from its #YutopianJourney campaign to trolling rivals OnePlus and Apple has dropped hints about the new phone's specs and features. It is expected that the company will host flash sales for Yutopia with mandatory registrations, so interested folks can register in advance to buy the phone when it is available.

So far, YU has confirmed a few key specs that will be seen in the Yutopia. They include a full metal body, QHD display, quick charge tech, 32GB internal storage and an impressive camera. As per rumours, the handset will feature a 5.2-inch display, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, 4GB RAM, Cyanogen OS, 21MP rear camera, 8MP front-snapper and microSD card support.
