Here's some good news for fans of Vivek Dahiya, who plays the role of ACP Abhishek on "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein." The actor has reportedly bagged the lead role in Ekta Kapoor's next venture "Kavach," Tellychakkar.com reports.

"Kavach" was tentatively titled "Mangalsutra" and has Mona Singh as the female lead. The show is a finite series and will revolve around Mona's character, who would go to any extent to protect her husband.

While no confirmation has been made by the makers as to whether Vivek is a part of the show or not, if the report turns out to be true, it will be interesting to see Vivek and Mona romancing on screen.

There were reports that "Kavach" would replace popular supernatural show "Naagin" that has Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani in the lead. "It's an interesting take on the life of a woman, who can go to any extent to protect her husband, even if it's from the clutches of an actual daayan (witch). The show is loosely inspired by Savitri, who fights for her husband's life and wins it back from Yamraj," a source had told the Times of India.

Mona was last seen on Ekta's "Pyar Ko Ho Jaane Do," opposite Iqbal Khan. Although, the show had a unique concept, it failed to garner the required TRPs, which resulted in the show going off air.

Meanwhile, Vivek and "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" lead actress Divyanka Tripathi aka Ishita got engaged in a hush-hush ceremony in January and are likely to tie the knot in July or November this year. The lovebirds are also planning an elaborate Hindu traditional wedding, which will be held either in Chandigarh or Bhopal. For their television friends, Divyanka and Vivek have planned to host a grand reception in Mumbai soon after the wedding.
