Yash has addressed the controversy surrounding the repeated postponement of his upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups and its earlier clash with Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The actor said he has never deliberately chosen to compete with another film and maintained that his release date was announced first.

Toxic was initially scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, the same day as Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The makers later moved the film to June 4, citing uncertainty in the Middle East, before postponing it again. A new theatrical release date has not yet been announced.

Speaking about the March release plan, Yash admitted that he was uncertain about how the situation would unfold. However, he made it clear that concerns over losing box-office revenue do not influence his decisions. The KGF star said he does not fear losing ₹100 crore or ₹200 crore and views whatever he has achieved so far as an addition to what he started with.

For Yash, the bigger concern is meeting the expectations he has created among audiences. He said his real fear is failing to deliver the film he has promised viewers rather than suffering a financial loss.

The actor also explained why he agreed to move Toxic away from the March 19 date. According to him, the decision was not driven by ego, image or a desire to prove himself. Instead, he described it as an issue of self-respect and a practical decision regarding the film's release.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar went on to become a major Hindi blockbuster, reportedly earning more than ₹1,300 crore worldwide. Its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which released on March 19, has also recorded a huge box-office run, crossing ₹1,800 crore worldwide according to current trade estimates.

With Toxic still awaiting its new release date, Yash's comments have shifted the focus from the box-office clash to his approach towards filmmaking, where delivering a film that meets audience expectations appears to matter more to him than protecting a particular release date or potential earnings.
