Yamaha's recently launched YZF-R25 has reportedly garnered more than 2,800 bookings online in Indonesia within 25 hours, claims a new report.

Yamaha Indonesia, which opened the online bookings for the YZF-R25 on 22 May 2014, reportedly had plans to sell only 500 bikes online but the overwhelming response from two-wheeler enthusiasts forced the company to push the number to 10,00, reported Rushlane.

The company has also announced that the first 250 takers of the bike will get Valentino Rossi AGV helmets.

YZF-R25, a 250cc motorbike offering from Yamaha, was launched on 20 May in Indonesia, with a price tag of 53 Million Rupiah (roughly ₹2.70 lakh). The bike, which is powered by a 250cc liquid-cooled, in-line, four-stroke, two-cylinder engine, can churn out a power of 36 Bhp, 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm.

Built on Tubular Diamond chassis, Yamaha's latest offering in the  R-series line up comes with Telescopic suspension at the front and monocross suspension at the rear. It measures 2090 mm in length, 720 mm in width, 1135 mm in height and has a seat height of 780mm.

The bike has a wheelbase of 1380mm, weighs 166kgs and has a fuel tank capacity of 14.3 liters. It comes with the features like fuel consumption indicator, oil change indicator, trip and odo-meter and engine temperature warning. It will be available in three colours - Racing Blue, Diablo Red and Predator Black.

Though Yamaha is yet to announce the global availability of the bike, rumours are rife that the company would bring the YZF-R25 to India soon. A recent report of Gaadi.com said that the Yamaha India has imported a new 250cc motorbike to India for "Research and Development". Though the details of the imported bike are unknown, reports indicated that the bike could be YZF-R25. It also noted that the unknown bike had a declared value of INR 2,16,099.

If reports are to believed, in India R25 will come with single cylinder 250cc motor, which would make the bike affordable for the Indian two-wheeler aficionados. When launched, the Yamaha R25 may take on the likes of Hyosung GT250R Kawasaki Ninja 250 Mono and Honda CBR250R in India.
