Nvidia's much-awaited co-branded tablet Xolo Play Tegra Note has been launched in India, via online channels.

The new tablet can now be booked at e-commerce sites - FlipkartInfibeam and Saholic  for ₹17,999, but the delivery of the units will only commence in the third week of this month (December).

Xolo Play Tegra Note sports a 7.0-inch HD (1280x800p) IPS display and runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS with 1GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 32GB).

It boasts Nvidia's flagship 1.8GHz Tegra 4 quad-core processor (Cortex A15), paired with an additional core (battery saver chipset), making it the world's fastest 7.0-inch tablet, claims the company.

The tablet also houses a 72-Core Nvidia GeForce graphics engine, 5.0-megapixel camera with HDR (High Dynamic Range), 0.3-megapixel secondary camera, Nvidia PureAudio technology, a 15.17 watt battery capable of backing 10 hours continuous video-play on the tablet and a stylus (Nvidia DirectStylus technology).

One striking point is that the tablet runs on stock Android v4.2.2 OS and is expected to get firmware updates v4.3 Jelly Bean, as well as v4.4 KitKat, directly from co-developer Nvidia.

Once launched, Nvidia-Xolo Tegra Note will compete against the recently released Asus-Google Nexus 7 (2013 Edition), Nexus 7 (2012), Asus Fonepad, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (T211), Lenovo Idea Tab A3000, Apple iPad Mini (first generation), Micromax Canvas Tab P650 and others.
