Xolo 8X-1000 with Custom HIVE UI Unveiled in India; Price, Specification Details

Home grown smartphone maker, Xolo on 6 August officially launched the mid-range handset 8X-1000 with custom HIVE UI in India.

The new Xolo 8X-1000 sports a 5.0-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 shield and ships with 1.4GHz MediaTek Octa-core processor backed by 600MHz Mali 450-MP4 graphics engine, 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB).

Other stipulated specifications of the new Xolo phone include 8.0-megapixel Sony camera (with Exmor R sensor, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash), 2.0-megapixel camera, a 1,920 mAh battery, which can run the phone for up to 11 hours of talk time and close to 352 hours under standby mode.

A striking feature of 8X-1000 is the Xolo's proprietary custom UI - HIVE, which the company proclaims to be a 'Made in India, Made for India' software.

Key Features of HIVE Include:

Fusion X: It integrates music player, video files and radio into one centralized core.

Launcher: It manages the apps in the phone and also comes with one-touch RAM cleaner to clear background apps to free RAM space for lag-free user-experience.

Quick Settings: Unlike conventional straight slide bar seen in other Android smartphones, HIVE features circular control setting option with a toggle switch that lets users to easily alternate between dual-SIM cards for calls and messages.

Unified Contact profile: HIVE UI provides simplified contact list with unified message threads and call-logs of every contact.

Chameleon Widget: This intuitive widget has the ability to seamlessly blend into which ever wallpaper the user installs in the home-screen.

The new Xolo 8X-1000 is said to hit stores across India for ₹13,999 next week and will be competing with the popular Xiaomi Mi3, Moto G, HTC Desire 616, Asus Zenfone 5 and BlackBerry Z3, which fall under the same price range.
