Xiaomi has launched a new camera called Xiaomi Yi 4K Action in China. It comes more than a year after the Chinese technology giant surprised gadget lovers by foraying into camera section and releasing the Xiaomi Yi Action.

However, the Xiaomi Yi 4K Action is much superior to the Xiaomi Yi Action in terms of features. Its price is also higher at $200, compared to $80 for the Yi Action.

According to Android Headlines, the Xiaomi Yi 4K Action features a 12-megapixel Sony IMX377 sensor and is powered by an Ambarella A9SE95 chipset. It is capable of capturing videos in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second, and can take slow-motion videos at 720p resolution with 240 frames per second. It is powered by a 1,400mAh battery that can last up to 8 hours (standby) or up to 2 hours of video recording.

The camera also comes with a 155-degree wide-angle lens and an f/2.8 aperture. It can capture time lapse videos with time intervals between each shot at of 0.5 / 1 / 2 / 5 / 10 / 30 / 60 seconds. The camera also sports a 2.19-inch touchscreen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass with a 330 ppi pixel density. In terms of connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

Priced at $200, the new Xiaomi camera is available in white, black and pink colours. It comes with accessories like waterproof case, filters, UV lenses, and a Bluetooth remote camera shutter controller.

It is not known if Xiaomi will make the device available outside China.
