It's been barely a few months since Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 6 series in China and select global markets and now, the Redmi Note 7 has made an appearance on the performance testing website hinting the company might announce the successor soon.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 has been spotted on Geekbench with scores—1462 and 4556—points on single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. It's pretty good marks for a mid-range phone and definitely bodes well for Xiaomi, which is now the numero uno brand in India because of that particular class of mobiles.

Other Key details such as storage, camera and battery capacity are yet to be ascertained, but the benchmark sheet reveals that the Redmi Note 7 will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core and 6GB RAM similar to the Xiaomi's Mi A2. It will be able to perform all day-to-day functions including some medium graphics-rich games without much trouble and also support high-end camera hardware, which is a big plus to have in a highly competitive market like India and China.

It can be noted that Samsung, which has lost the smartphone leader crown to Xiaomi in India, is planning to replace the Galaxy J series with brand new Galaxy M series. The former is expected to bring it in two variants—Galaxy M10 and M20, as early as couple weeks in the country. It will be a global launch and show local consumers, how much Samsung is committed to the Indian market. Also, the company is assembling the new Galayx M series at the Noida unit, which is touted to be the world's biggest mobile manufacturing plant.

We believe Xiaomi will also not waste time in releasing the new Redmi Note 7 series. Last year, the company announced the Redmi Note 5 in February 2018 and followed it up with Redmi Note 6 Pro in November. So, we won't be surprised if Redmi Note 7 series makes official debut in China in early February and come to India before the end of March 2019.

Until that time, Xiaomi is likely to bring the costs of Redmi Note 6 Pro in coming weeks to fight the competition from the new Galaxy M series.
