On 13 January, Xiaomi on social media platforms, released a teaser that the company has some exciting news to share with fans on Thursday.

This led many to believe that the Chinese company might announce a new device, but there were no clues on what it might be. It was widely reported that Xiaomi might announce the Redmi 3 budget phone.

Now, Xiaomi on Facebook has confirmed that the feature-rich Redmi Note 3 will set foot in India. Thus, the company has finally put all rumours of Redmi Note 3 never being launched in India to rest.

"SHARE the AWESOME news that a new Redmi Note 3 is coming," reads Xiaomi India Facebook wall.The company has invited fans to participate in a contest where 100 people stand a chance to win the new Redmi Note 3. [More information, HERE]

For the uninitiated, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch full HD display and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based MIUI v7.0 OS powered by MediaTek Helio X10 Octa-core processor, 13MP primary camera, 5MP snapper on the front and a 4000 mAh battery.

The company is yet to reveal the device's price and which Redmi Note 3 model will hit stores in India. There are two-models one with 2GB RAM/16GB storage and another with 3GB/32GB storage capacity.
