Xiaomi has launched yet another budget smartphone, the Redmi 3s, with fingerprint reader on the back and several feature upgrades over its sibling, the Redmi 3. It comes in two variants, a 16GB model priced at 699 Yuan (around Rs. 7,100 / $106) and a 32GB version with a price tag of 899 Yuan (around Rs. 9,100/$136).

The Xiaomi Redmi 3s sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720x1,280 pixels (294 ppi pixel density), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has a 16/32GB internal memory expandable up to 256GB via microSD card, a 2/3GB RAM, a 13MP rear camera with an aperture of f/2.0, LED flash and phase detection auto focus, a 5MP with f/2.2 aperture, and a 4,100mAh battery.

The Chinese technology company is yet to announce when the Redmi 3s will be released in India or its pricing, but it appears like it will be priced below Rs. 10,000. If so, the device has to take on popular handsets like the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016), Lenovo K4 Note, Redmi Note 3, Asus Zenfone Max, Meizu M3 Note, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus and several others in the Indian market.

Here are details of devices that the Xiaomi Redmi 3s is likely to take on when released in India:

Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016)

The device comes with a price tag of Rs. 8,990 and sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 720x1,280 pixels (294 ppi pixel density). Under the hood, it has a Spreadtrum SC8830 processor, an Android 5.1 Lollipop, an 8GB/16GB internal storage expandable up to 128GB via microSD card, an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, autofocus and LED flash, 5MP front-snapper, and a 2,600mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3

The 16GB internal memory and 3GB RAM variant comes with a price tag of Rs. 9,999 and sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (403 ppi pixel density). Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, an Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, a 16MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, a 5MP secondary camera with f/2.0, and a 4,000mAh battery.

Lenovo K4 Note

It is one of the most popular budget smartphones released last year. Competitively priced at Rs. 9,999, the device sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 1,080x1920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density). Under the hood, it has a Mediatek MT6752 processor clocking at 1.3 GHz, an Android 5.1 Lollipop with Vibe UI 3.0 (upgradable to Android Marshmallow), a 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 128GB), a 3GB RAM, a 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP front-snapper, and a 3,000mAh battery.

Asus Zenfone Max

Priced at Rs. 9,999 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD card0 model, the device has a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with 720x1,280 pixels (267 ppi pixel density), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, and an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based ZenUI. It mounts a 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash, a 5MP front-snapper, and a 5,000mAh battery.

Coolpad Note

The device is priced at Rs. 8,999 and sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720x1,280 pixels (267 ppi pixel density). It is powered by a Mediatek MT6753 processor, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes packed with a 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 64GB via miroSD card) and a 3GB RAM. It also has a 13MP main camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 5MP front-snapper, and a 3,000mAh battery.

Meizu M3 Note

Priced at Rs. 9,999, the device sports a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1,080x1,920 pixels (403 ppi pixel density), powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 processor, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop-based FlymeOS. It also comes packed with a 16/32GB internal storage with memory expandable up to 128GB via microSD card, a 2/3GB RAM with, a 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and dual tone LED flash, a 5MP front-snapper, and a 4,100mAh battery.
