Expectations from Xiaomi's next big thing, the Mi 5, are sky-high after the success of its predecessor Mi 4 and other Xiaomi devices. Fans will expect the new device to come with the latest features, being a flagship device.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 has been in news for quite a while now, with reports suggesting that it would be unveiled in July and launched in August. Later, the release date was shifted to September but then too, the release did not happen. WCCF Tech had earlier reported, citing sources from Beijing, that the new device will be announced by the end of November, but it is not confirmed yet. So, fans will expect the device to hit stores at least by the end of this year.

The Chinese smartphone maker has not revealed anything about its next-generation device, but leaks have revealed almost everything about it.

Expectations from Xiaomi Mi 5:

The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to have a new design and come with features like a 5.2-inch QHD touchscreen with 2560 x 1440 pixels screen resolution and protected by Gorilla Glass 4, fingerprint sensor and Type-C USB port.

According to a report by GforGames, a Chinese tipster has claimed on Weibo that Xiaomi has "patented a new technology similar to Apple's 3D Touch," giving a hint that the technology, which was used in Apple's iPhone 6s, could be used in its upcoming devices, perhaps the Mi 5.

It is reported that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system, 32/64 GB internal memory, 4 GB RAM, 16 MP main camera with optical Image stabilisation (OIS), 5 MP secondary snapper and 3000mAh battery under the hoods.

According to reports, the Xiaomi Mi 4 successor will be priced at around $399, approximately Rs 26,500, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
