All eyes are on Xiaomi's upcoming flagship device, the Mi 5, as its release date is drawing close. It is almost certain that the next-generation smartphone will have several feature upgrades over its predecessor, the Mi4, but fans may still want more from it.

Xiaomi has promised big with its Mi 5 -- from display to processor to camera. In fact, it may give other flagship devices like iPhone 6s and upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, HTC One M10 and others a run for their money. Still, the company has to work on a couple of small things considering user's needs.

Here are two simple features that Xiaomi fans may want in the Mi 5:

MicroSD card slot: Xiaomi Mi4 didn't have a microSD card slot. There are reports that its successor will come packed with a 16GB/64GB internal memory, and a 3GB RAM, but gadget lovers will still want expandable memory option. It's unlikely that the Mi 5 will come with a microSD card slot, but fans will be happy if it does.

Screen size: Nothing about Xiaomi Mi 5 is confirmed at the moment but GFXBench's claim that it may sport a 5.7-inch display with 1,920x1,080 pixels could shock many for the simple reason that it will be in a different category all together, if it is true. It was earlier reported that the device may have a 5.2-inch QHD touchscreen with 2,560x1,440 pixel, and most Xiaomi fans may prefer this screen size.

According to reports, the Mi 5 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocking at 2.1GHz, house an Adreno 530 GPU and run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Under the hood, it is expected to have a 16GB and 64GB internal memory, a 3GB RAM, a 16MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP front-snapper and a 3,600mAh battery with Quick Charge v3.0 technology.
