Xiaomi has launched its flagship smartphone, the Mi 5, in India, a month after it was released in its home country China. The device will be made available for purchase via flash sale, which will begin next week.

The first flash sale of the Xiaomi Mi 5 will start at 11 a.m. April 6 exclusively on the company's website. Registration had not begun at the time of filing this story. The device will be available in black, gold and white colours.

The Chinese smartphone maker has launched three models of the Mi 5, one with a 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM priced at 1,999 Yuan (around $306), another one with a 64GB internal memory and 3GB RAM with a price tag of 2,299 Yuan (around $351), and a 128GB storage and 4GB RAM model priced at 2,699 Yuan (around $413).

However, only the variant with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM, which is priced at Rs 24,999, will be available for purchase in India during the first flash sale. It is not known when the other models will be released in the country.

The Mi 5 appears impressive on paper with good design and features, and reasonable pricing, though it is to be seen if it is worth the money. It sports a 5.15-inch full HD screen with 1,920x1,080 pixel (428 ppi pixel density), measures 144.6x69.2x7.3 mm in dimension and features a fingerprint sensor.
