Microsoft has announced a new Countdown, touted as Xbox Store's 'biggest ever sale'. This sale promises 17 days of great deals that will cover a wide repertoire of products in the Store's inventory.

Major Nelson aka Larry Hryb of Xbox revealed about the new sale on his official blog and said the sale for Xbox users will start on 22 December, 2015 and end on 7 January, 2016.

This sale will be inclusive of "hundreds of games, movies & TV shows and apps, including daily and weekly offers." The sale promises Xbox users "great deals" on some of the amazing games line-ups that will include the likes of Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and Rare Replay.

Countdown will also have deals on Fallout 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Assassin's Creed Syndicate and others.

There will be more than 10 Backward Compatibility games in the sale and will cover both Xbox 360 and Xbox One games. Discounts will be ranging from 40% to 60%.

Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be benefited as they get an additional 10% on top of the discounts already on offer. Major Nelson argues on the blog that this is a good time for Xbox users to have a subscription in case they do not have one.

The sale deal will not only be on games but will also encompass Movies and TV shows like Rogue Nation, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Mad Max: Fury Road, Archer seasons and others.

There are some apps like Sling TV, Crunchyroll and CBS All Access that are offering free trials for a month, which is an exclusive deal.

A few deals will also make Xbox One cheaper by $50, offering deals on Xbox One bundles, for $299. These deals will be starting on 26 December.
