Dhaka, Nov 26 (ANI): U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Nisha Desai Biswal's visit to Dhaka was part of Washington's effort to engage with Bangladesh's two major political parties- the Awami League and the BNP- and try to break the deadlock which is threatening the parliamentary elections of 2014. Biswal met Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and opposition leader Khalida Zia urging them to end the impasse and take part in the general elections scheduled for January 2014.
