New Delhi/ Mumbai, July 19 (ANI): The recent brutal rapes in Bangalore and Lucknow have sparked up furious reactions from social and women_s rights activists across India. Women_s rights activist Abha Singh attacked the Uttar Pradesh government over the gangrape and murder of a woman in Lucknow, saying that law and order has broken down in the state and if the government cannot protect the women of its state, then it should be dismissed. Chairperson of NCW Shamina Shafiq threw light on the appalling number of rapes that take place in UP each day while women_s rights activist Neelam Katara pointed out to the endless delays, which have plagued the justice system. Social activist Kiran Bedi said that whether it is Bangalore or UP, India is in a need of social revolution that addresses the backwardness of the mindset of Indian men. She added that improvement in governance was extremely important to improve policing in the country.
