Latest buzz doing the rounds in Kollywood is that superstar Rajinikanth is all set to do a cameo in a Kannada film titled "One Way."

Rajinikanth, who hails from Bangalore, Karnataka, has done a few Kannada films including "Katha Sangama", "Garjana" and "Kumkuma Rakshe" among others in late 70s and early 80s.

The actor, who is now settled in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is concentrating only on Tamil films. However, the superstar enjoys a massive fan following in Karnataka as well.

 If the superstar's cameo role in the Kannada film is confirmed, he will be making his comeback to the industry after three decades.

"One Way" is directed by Rushi of "Kotlalappo Kai fame." According to a report in oneindia, Raj Bahadur, a close friend of Rajinikanth, has been roped in to do a significant role in the film. Sources told the website that Rajinikanth might be invited to do a cameo role in the film or might take part in the film's promotions. However, there is no confirmation from the actor so far.

The superstar is currently busy with his upcoming film "Kochadaiiyaan", directed by his younger daughter Soundarya. The film, touted to be an epic drama, is expected to release on Rajinikanth's birthday which happens to be on 12 December.

"Kochadaiiyaan" is claimed to be India's first 3D film using motion-capturing technology. The film's teaser, which was released in September, has received a lot of appreciation from fans. The Rajini starrer, which is reportedly made on a whopping budget of ₹150 crore, is one of the most-awaited films of 2013.

The film is likely to be released simultaneously in several languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and in foreign languages such as Italian, Spanish and Japanese.

Rajini is reportedly doing a dual role in the film - as a father and as a son. The other cast members include Deepika Padukone, Nassar, Shobana, Jackie Shroff and Aadhi among others. The film's music is composed by Oscar winner AR Rahman. A single number from the album was released early this month and the audio launch is expected to happen soon.
