With the Union cabinet approving to create Telangana, protests in the Seemandhra region have intensified in the last two days, affecting the Telugu film industry.

Some of the upcoming Telugu films are reportedly pushing their release dates further as a result of the political unrest in the state. A few films, including Jr NTR's big-budget flick "Ramayya Vastavayya", have been scheduled to hit the screens during the festive season of Dussehra.

It may be recalled that Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi" was slated to hit theatres in August. But, the Seemandhra protests forced the makers to postpone the release date to 27 September. The family entertainer received a massive response at the worldwide box office, raking in over ₹49 crore.

The success of "Attarintiki Daredi" shifted the focus on Jr NTR's "Ramayya Vastavayya" (RV), which was slated to release on 10 October. Speculations were rife as to whether Jr NTR's film will be able to surpass "Attarintiki Daredi" collections. The pre-release buzz for "Ramayya Vastavayya" has been positive with an impressive trailer and wonderful songs.

However, uncertainty looms large over the release of "Ramayya Vastavyaa" due to the ongoing protests in Seemandhra. As per reports, the film's release date might be pushed back indefinitely.

"RV" producer Dil Raju has revealed that the film might be released on 10 October or a few days later. He confirmed that his team will not miss the Dussehra holiday season to release the film, reported Jeevi, editor and reviewer of Idlebrain.

Directed by Harish Shankar, "RV" has Jr NTR and Samantha in the leading roles. Actress Shruti Haasan appears in a guest role in the film. Other cast members include Rao Ramesh, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Vidyullekha Raman.

The film, deemed as an action-packed entertainer, will be censored on Monday (7 October).
