The "Anchorman" star, Will Ferrell, received a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday. His co-stars and the Mayor gathered to congratulate him and shared some funny stories about him.

The 47-year-old star is still surprised with this sudden award of recognition. "I feel extremely fortunate to have accomplished this much.... Comedians don't get a lot of awards, so this is really nice" Ferrell said. He was joined by wife Viveca Paulin and their three sons, 11-year-old Magnus, 8-year-old Mattias, and 5-year-old Axel, who looked on proudly as he unveiled his name on the Walk of Fame.

His former co-stars John C Reilly and Molly Shannon were also present on the occasion. Ferrell's "Get Hard" co-star Kevin Hart as well as LA Mayor Eric Garcetti also attended the event to praise him. He thanked his fans who have supported him throughout and "has allowed him to do what he likes". After being appreciated by the Mayor, Ferrell said, "I've never had a mayor say nice things on my behalf."

Both his co-stars were all praises about him. "Maybe someday, in 50 years, people will look down on the sidewalk and say the things that we say today about some of these people: 'Who the f--- is this guy?" Reilly said. "But I hope not. This man is deserving of all the praise we give him today."

Shannon, in her turn, said that Ferrell is the most genuine person she had met. She discussed how he shared with her his back-up plan during their time together on Saturday Night Live. "He said, 'I don't know, what if acting doesn't work out? What if animation totally takes over and they don't need real human actors?'" she said. "I said, 'I don't think that's going to happen," and he said, 'I could just have a simple life, driving a truck or living on a farm and driving that truck on that farm.' So, he had a backup plan."

In his next comedy, "Get Hard", Ferrell plays millionaire James King who is nailed for fraud and bound for San Quentin; thus, turning to Darnell Lewis (Kevin) to prep him to go behind bars. The movie will hit the theatres on Friday, 27 March.
