Though actress Mallika Sherawat auditioned for the role of Aamir Khan's wife in "Dangal", she did not get the role reportedly for being too young to portray the role of a mother of four teenage girls.

Mallika stated that although her audition was loved by the makers of the movie, Aamir rejected her as he felt she will not look old enough to play the role. "I had auditioned for the role of Aamir's wife in Dangal. Aamir and the film unit loved my auditions but as my role would be of a mother of four grown up girls, Aamir felt that regardless of whatever could be done, I might not look old enough to play a mother to four teenage daughters. That is the only reason why I did not get cast in the film," Koimoi quoted Mallika as saying.

The role of Aamir's wife in "Dangal" will be played by Sakshi Tanwar, well known for her TV serial "Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki".

There was also a lot of buzz regarding the role of Aamir's daughter's in the film.

Several actresses were rumoured to be playing the role of his daughters in "Dangal". Two newcomers, Fatima Shaikh and Saniya Malhotra, have come up as the final cast for the flick.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, "Dangal" is a biopic on the life of wrestler Mahavir Phogat. Aamir will portray the character of the wrestler and has gained a lot of weight for the role.

The film is slated to get released in the month of December next year.
