Alton Sterling was the 37-year-old American shot to death by police officers in Baton Rouge on 5 July, 2016. He was the father of five children, living in a transitional home, whose favorite dish was red beans and rice. Sterlings son Cameron champions good police officers and peace between all racial groups. Alton was the 558th American to be killed by police in the US in 2016.
