The sudden and untimely death of Houston, 48, who was recognized by Guinness World Records as the female singer with the most awards in history, shocked her family, fans, and music lovers around the world. She was found dead in a hotel bathtub on the eve of the Grammy Awards show. The cause of her death is not yet known.
Fans thronged the vicinity of the singer's funeral to mourn and witness the final journey of their favorite singer, although only invited quests were allowed to attend the funeral service at the church where she honed her voice as a gospel singer with her mother Cissy Houston.
