The impending "Raees" Vs. "Kaabil" box office war has been grabbing headlines and there's an update on it almost every other day. After Shah Rukh Khan met Rakesh Roshan at latter's residence, there was a strong murmur that the clash has been averted, but the director-producer has a different story to tell.

"What is there to change? We have announced the date earlier but we are all friends and we will sort it out," Rakesh told DNA (as cited by BollywoodLife). An insider reacted to this statement, saying that the "Mohenjo Daro" box office performance would decide if "Kaabil" will be out on Jan 26., 2017 or be pushed to another date.

"If Hrithik's Mohenjo Daro is a big hit, he will not budge 'Kaabil' from its scheduled release date January 26, 2017. But if the upcoming period drama doesn't do well at the box office then he will not take on Shah Rukh Khan and move his film to avoid clash with 'Raees'."

Rahul Dholakia's "Raees" was to be released with Salman Khan's "Sultan" on July 6, but avoided the clash as India doesn't have enough screens to accommodate two big films. Also, "Raees" isn't really complete.

Shah Rukh had shot some of the action sequences while nursing an injury and believes those scenes didn't turn out looking the way they should have. Therefore, the portions need to be re-shot.

Based on the life and times of Gujarat-based bootlegger Raees, the crime-thriller also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Mahira Khan and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
