West Indies Tri-series 2013 will kick off on Friday, 28 June with hosts West Indies taking on Sri Lanka in the opening game. It promises to be a cracker of a contest with all the participating teams having played in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy which India won.

West Indies Tri-series 2013 is a One Day International (ODI) tournament featuring West Indies, India and Sri Lanka. Having defeated West Indies and Sri Lanka by eight wickets each in their meetings in the recently concluded Champions Trophy, India will come into the contest as the favourites.

The contest is expected to be a stiff fight with all the participating countries having performed well in the Champions Trophy. India and Sri Lanka entered the semi-final of the tournament, while West Indies lost the spot to South Africa on a net run rate difference.

All the teams have retained almost all the players who played in the Champions Trophy except for a few changes. West Indies have dropped Ramnaresh Sarwan and Jason Holder for the Jamaican leg (first three matches) following their poor performance in the Champions Trophy. India have replaced injured Irfan Pathan by Shami Ahmed, while Sri Lanka replaced Thisara Perera and Tillakaratne Dilshan by Ajantha Mendis and Upul Tharanga.

A total of seven matches, including the final, will be played in Jamaica and Trinidad. The top two performing teams will meet in the final on 11 July.

The Tri-series will be broadcast live on Ten Cricket, Ten Sports and Ten HD channels.
